We never update this thing anymore. I only am now because I'm sitting here in a very interesting class with my hand raised (yes, I'm typing one-handed), and it has been for a looong time, while the professor calls on other people who make brilliant points like, "But what if we lived in an alternate universe where pleasure was pain and benefits were detriments? What would be the legal perspective on torture then?" , and I am frustrated. So I came here. Odd.
Update more!

Because I've been told to update, I decided instead to...make a new layout? This is obviously a testament to the amount of spare time I have. Yes, I am aware that there are no links to the friends page, the info page, etc. It was either between doing away with them completely or putting them on a sidebar on the right which I thought sort of ruined the lines a bit. I figure it's not too hard for you lot to type "/friends" or "/info" after the main page URL. Or bookmark them. As usual there is a new info tag and icon.
Also, I have not in fact miscalculated the width of the boxes, but rather Larry's large picture posts have stretched some of the entries.
Being home is refreshing and relaxing on whole new levels - I don't think I've been this unconcerned with anything at all in a very long time. Starting work at a law firm on Monday, we'll see how that goes - apparently my boss is definitely bitchy, so am really only in this for the money. Hopefully will be able to slog it through.
Am also in the middle of finalizing plans for Hong Kong and India this summer. I'm going to be racking up an incredible amount of miles and a whole lot of jet lag. Not sure that I will actually be able to survive all the flying, especially the return trip which is: Bangalore -> Bangkok -> Hong Kong -> Los Angeles. All in one go. I haven't actually figured out the hours for each of the flights, but given that the HK/LA one is 13 hours on its own, it's not going to be a happy couple of many hours for me. Also, must get cracking on vaccinations and visa. In any case, I think it's definitely going to be worth it, am going to have an insane time, judging by what Eshanya's told me about Bangalore already.
Got myself a new phone- it's a Motorola L6 and it's pink. Possibly the first (and only) pink phone I've ever had. Going up to San Jose and San Francisco on June 2 to visit my mates Jodi and Vanessa, which I guess is the thing on my major activities radar. When the hell are everyone's times in SM going to overlap?

So you may have read in my DJ a while ago that I started yet another blog, at the same time as I streamlined them a little (got rid of my LJ, got rid of one of my xangas and turned the other one into my 'new' one). They're supposed to be diversified to cater to different crowds, and the new xanga's catered towards debaters. But what with playing with all Facebook (for NYUers)'s new toys, and getting caught up in all sorts of Myspace (for HSers) antics, and updating my xanga with all these Deep Thoughts, I haven't really gotten around to updating this thing much.
So I obviously won't close my DJ account, but to eliminate the need for me to post all my xanga entries twice, I just hope you guys read my xanga. It's just xanga.com/iqei, and there are some pretty debate-heavy entries, but you can just skip those if you want. I mean, what with Jasmine starting a new intellectual blogger site too I figured I should give you guys a heads up that this one is more in that style as well, so if you're interested in the my pseudo-philosophical ramblings, you can check it out.
Two weeks-ish til home! Can't wait to chill with everyone in person again, where stupid blogs aren't necessary...

Obviously, am mucking around and procrastinating since do not have actually have any urgent work due tomorrow.
It's getting to be that time of the year, the home stretch of the school year, when I feel absolutely no motivation to do anything simply because there's nothing pushing me to do so. Of course, I should be on top of the game all the time, given that GPAs are cumulative, resumes need to be padded and built and so on, but right now visions of the beach and big pink drinks with umbrellas in them are swanning around in my head and I couldn't be less inspired to do the ugly work reality demands. I don't remember why/how I managed to work so hard all through my four years at SMHS -- probably the "looming" prospect of college.
Totally surreal and weird talking to random kids who are apparently coming to/considering NYU and immediately (and wrongly) grouping them into little boxes and types in my head. "I never pegged her for an NYU type", etc. Strange to think that we were all in the same narrow-minded little situation this time last year.

so there were hundreds of thousands of ppl marching in la the other day and all i can say is i really really wish i could be a part of tat. im so proud we can have millions across the country protest on such an important issue like illegal immigration and do so so peacefully. o french ppl r insane ...
anyways i guess the old url for the fcukers doesnt work anyone cuz it hasnt been responding to my browser the past few weeks. so sorry i havent updated.
anyways the other night i was eating dinner with my friends here and i had this chicken with rice. it was just plain rice and chicken and i thought it was gonna have no taste at all and den there was this familiar taste. i was like 'wat does tat taste like? ...' i mean it wasnt plain so i started thinking wat could u possibly put in plain white rice. and den i looked at plate more carefully and i see this yellow oil all over the plate and all over my fork. it was butter. and i freaked out cuz i felt disgusted i was eating butter rice and chicken the whole time plus ive never heard tat u could put butter in rice in the first place! and den my friends were like, 'yeah tats how white ppl does it'. *SIGH
meanwhile i had a great spring break. i'll post some pics later cuz i dont have alot of time rite now.

my preexistential fate was for me to not study. i cannot study. i suck at it.
life has been great. i've chatted here and there with some of you a lot, larry, sometimes, jasmine and eliz, some here and there, chris, and some not at all justin and claw.
school is quite a bitch this semester. i have the occasional paper, and then a whole forage of midterms twice.
pretty over getting stoned all the time. partying is still fun, especially if there are generous quantities of it and a large variety.
miss you all, hope we can have fun over spring break.
my life is quite mundane and routine. i do not like it.
going to new york on may 10th. too bad all of the new yorkers wont be there.

So I fixed the background and the header which both weren't showing up, but I don't think anyone (including myself) noticed. Until very recently, obviously.
Hope second semester's coming along well for everyone - my Starbucks spending level has definitely gone up exponentially since last semester. On a weekly basis, I must spend the GDP of, like, Zaire on not that great coffee and marble pound cake.
On the bright side, am not getting (too) fat on that sort of thing, as I've taken up a gym course with a couple of people. The class is called Ab Lab, which gives everyone an idea as to what we do there. Also cardio every day, which makes the elliptical machine my new love/hate figure.
Absolutely cannot wait for spring break - it's been absolutely freezing here in New York, and can't wait til I can actually go out without putting on sixteen layers of wooly clothing. Figure that time will speed up once I hit March (which really isn't that bad considering February only has 28 days. Yay.)
So I guess the only change that's happened since my last update is that I'm legal now. Oh, and I've developed a renewed obsession with the BBC show Coupling - I've jacked the box set off my friend Meredtih and it's been all downhill from there. Also, my friends think I'm the female equivalent of the character Patrick. A quote to demonstrate:
Patrick: I don’t have an agenda. That’s a bit offensive, actually. I’m perfectly capable of being friends with a woman without any kind of agenda. Steve: For how long? Patrick: As long as it takes.
LIES.

Because of Jasmine's persistent pestering will now update:
Um, well besides the last entry..life's been quite mundane here in deadlands. Other than that, got a new roomate (whom larry, jas, and yuki have already met). Thankfully, shes not a psycho like the previous one :). And have already bonded through the wonders of sex and the city, pink floyd, and alcohol. good times. ANyways, schedule is a bitch. Besides having chinese every fucking day, I have philosophy, contemporary chinese film, and math. Pretty much have to wake up 8am every monday/wed/fri :(. Other than that, my film class is probably my only "fun/enjoyable" class although i will probably have to BS on my Communism in Film essay. OH well.
ANyways lovely layout, is quite a nice change if i do say so myself.
ONe more semester and we're non-freshmen~!

so i've been sleeping at 4 am every night for the past month now. and seeing as i have permanent bags under my eyes again (not since junior year..) i think i should change that.
making...keeping.. resolutions anyone? it's not too late in january to start right? bear with me:
- 4.0.. should be a given since i'm at cal poly. - sleep. - gain wieght start working out - less ramen - more family - more updates. seeing you ppl 3 times yearly isn't enough. - clean: room/car/dogs/myself - enjoy college? ...still considering this one
=)
be safe in college everyone. it's finally sinking in that i'm not in high school anymore.
you east coasters should listen to: augustana - boston. but replace boston with new york...haha close enough.
so i get really sappy late at night. it's when i write my most puke-worthy stuff to mieko. hence,
i love you all.
this entry is too depressing. i'm borerline deleting it now. so i'll post it before i come to my senses like so many times before.

so im lookin at my organizer, yes this semester ive so much work tat i have to use one, and i just realized im screwed like no other. my econ 365 class has its first assignment due tomorrow and i thought it'll just really be a Q&A kind of a thing but it states 'write no more than 900 words!!'. how modest. and d en theres readin for tat class tats due on thursday. moreover, i am officially 2 chapters behind in global environment. somethin tells me i'll get on his shitlist for sure. and den communications class demands that i read 3 chapters of 'life the movie' by thursday. also by thursday, my english class which i just registered last nite and now i have to read 'oedipus rex' by thursday as well as another play and about 5 essays tat go along with it. fuck me hard.
meanwhile, nice layout.

I'm not crazy about the orange fleur de lis thing in the background, but the california image at the top is really beautiful. Makes me miss home - sniff!
Anyway I realized as I was scrolling through getting a feel for the new layout that I haven't posted here in forever. So here I am! I'm still alive, and new classes suck, but you know. Heading off to Writing The Essay and Con West in half an hour or so. Huzzah.
In other news, my roommate moved out and I still don't have a new one so I sort of have the room to myself for a bit. Except that I can't move any of her furniture because it'll have to remian there until she arrives so there's this big empty space on that entire half of the room. =( But at least I can walk around na- you don't need to know that.
It's starting to get warmer but I know that's all an illusion. Winter isn't near close to being over.

Sorry about the general shoddiness of the new (O_O) layout - thought would get the basics up tonight, and fix the other stuff tomorrow/this week, like the links, getting us a new icon, etc. Whoever wants to donate $5.00+ for a paid account to get rid of the fucking banner is welcome to. Hope everyone's second semester's starting off well.
EDIT: Thank GOD it's fixed. Enjoy guys. Will come up with a new icon later.

Never have we seen this much activity since...well...freshman year in high school. Miss you all terribly, am sure that I will be seeing everyone at some point of time when I get back before the actual dinner on the 26th, but see you all (collectively) then. Haha, you know how we do. (I'm sure iqei will full appreciate the hilarity of that above phrase.)
